These were oh so close to being EXACTLY the pant I was looking for. Fabric and features were great BUT 1) they are cut way to slim for the non-skinny (I have average-ish thighs at 6'3" 250#). The thighs and hip area were both constricting. I could probably have dealt with that, but... 2) what is up with the iron-clad velcro on the phone pocket? It is a tight fit for my iPhone Xs (which is among the smallest smart phones on the market) to begin with, but there is no way to un-velcro the opening and maneuver the very tight space to get he phone out to answer a call in time or without activating something on the screen by mistake. The phone pocket is plenty tight enough to go without the velcro - it wouldn't fall out if I stood on my head). I was really hoping these would be the pants I've been searching for (well-fitting, a functional phone pocket on the thigh and nice material). I am impressed with how well the phone pocket Velcros so securely, but in this case it is a real disadvantage. Sadly (since they are such great pants otherwise), I will be returning them. These seem to be cut for skinny folks. I'm way too chunky but Mountain Hardwear covered the return great.Size Purchased: 28W, 30LTL;DR: Sturdy, lightweight material, great fashion. Groin to waist is too tight; hard to comfortably fit wallet, phone, etc in pockets. Not worth $70.I purchased these about two months ago, and I have been wearing them approximately twice a week.First, let me discuss the quality. Though they are on the light-weight side, they feel sturdy and should not tear or fray easily. They certainly have that high-quality, not going to fall apart yet light feel. On the subject of quality, I shall briefly mention fashion. They look great. Nice upgrade to jeans, but still allows you to have the option to do a recreational activity without changing out of your slacks.Second, is sizing. I am pretty skinny so it is hard to find good quality pants under a 30W. I purchased a size 28W, 30L and while the waist fits me good, the groin area is extremely tight. The designers need to raise the waist up so the pants do not feel like they are sitting right on top of the buttocks (instead of above the hipbone). I have gotten used to it, but on hot day's a gentleman's sensitive area may get very uncomfortable. This also makes it difficult to fit wallet, phone, keys, random stuff, etc in your pockets, and they bulge out. The pockets could also have used so more material to fit larger wallets. Finally, the price. Simply put, they are not worth. I paid $70 dollars for these, and while they are good quality, I do not believe it is commensurate of the price tag. If you willing to spend that amount of money on a pair of "casual, nicer than jeans," hiking pants, I would spend few dollars more and get something nicer.Took these on a week long hiking trip on the southwest in the spring. Temperatures ranged from 35 to 85 degrees and these were comfortable regardless. They stood up to everything, we’re comfortable, the fit was stylish and my wife said she liked them. What more do you need.As this is the third year in a row I am buying these pants. I can’t find another brand of outdoor clothing that is able to keep 30/34s in stock and or keep the quality of pants that these have. I use them as everyday pants that go spring skiing one day to the bar after then to the crag the next. I abuse them and apart from major rubbing when I wear them in off width climbs or fall and scrape them on granite hard they hold up incredibly well. Two years ago these pants had a small lining around the underwear lining. This annoyed me because when I would get them wet it would stay wet for hours after. When the entirety of the other parts of the pant dry in minutes while walking in the Rocky’s the newer versions don’t have this and it does make them dry faster but it also allows them not to last as long because holes in the butt on either side of the seam appear as this is a high wear area for me when scooting across rocks and bouldering. So the lack of the liner does have the positive of drying faster but in the long run makes them last quite a bit shorter. You might have different results if you wear underwear. I don’t and this is the change I have seen. These pants are amazing. They're warm, but not too warm, tough, comfortable, and move well. I hike in them, work on the car in them, and wear them to work (I teach). They're the best pants I've ever owned. These look great, for great, and feel great, but I decided to return them as in my opinion, they were too expensive. If the price was $30 less, I would definitely buy them.Love these pants. Have hiked in them for two years. Great stretch for bouldering and AT overnights. My only concern was the pilling of the material after about a year but that did not affect performance. Wash wasily and dry very quickly.Quality Product, Fast Delivery, Reasonably priced, what more could you ask for. one happy camper :)Apparently received a counterfeit item (see the pictures):1. The plastic bag it came in appeared to had already been opened before, and was sealed with a sticky tape in an inaccurate way;2. The pants did not have a roll up snaps (not to mention the feature's reflective detail!) - a feature which has always been present on all AP pants! Also, the pants had fewer seams overall and appeared a simplified version of the original;3. Another suspicious thing - the label and printing on the pants said "made in Vietnam", while the sticker on the packaging (with the same numerical code) was saying "made in Indonesia".Requested a replacement, will see how it goes...The fit is great. Great brand. But a bit disappointed that the seller would sell this pair with the obvious imperfections at full price. Poor job at disclosure.Product size is accurate and pants are very comfortable.
